Arm Lift

Ageing and weight loss can cause a natural flaccidity of the soft tissues of the arm. This procedure returns the natural contours of your arms.

Summary of the Procedure

The excess skin is removed. One scar is hidden in the armpit and the other is along the inside of the arm. The long scar will vary in length depending on the amount of skin that has to be removed.

Postoperative period

After the procedure, the patient awakes with a compression dressing over the area. A compression garment will need to be worn 24/7 for up to four weeks after surgery.

What you need to be aware of

As with any surgical procedure, there can occasionally be complications; scarring, bleeding, seroma, infection, asymmetry and altered sensation. Occasionally, over time the skin can start to sag again. The chances of any complication can be reduced by observing the postoperative recommendations above. Smoking is also a risk factor. This subject is always fully discussed during your initial consultation.
